Stella Goodman was born on July 4th, 1978 in Richmond, Virginia to her beloved mother, Jane Goodman and her humble father Peter Goodman. Her mother stayed at home throughout her life to take care of Stella and her four siblings, while her father Peter fought in various American wars, including the Vietnam war, the Gulf War and the Kosovo War in 1999. He also worked as a car salesman when he was home. Stella grew up playing soccer, spending countless hours with her mother and siblings and was an A+ student all throughout school. Jane Goodman took it upon herself to help around the community during the various wars, leaving her eldest daughter, Stella, to be responsible for her young siblings. Stella often cared for her siblings by making sure they did their schoolwork, keeping them safe, raising them with good morals, all while she was also working in place of her father at the car dealership. Stella had many responsibilities at a young age. Jane attended American University and studied Political Science and Law.
Then, tragedies struck the Goodman family left and right. Just before her father, Peter, left for the Kosovo War, Jane announced that she was pregnant again. Unfortunately, while Peter was gone, Jane was at the end of her 3rd term in her pregnancy and the baby was growing outside of the womb, causing an intense sickness for both the baby and Jane. It came down to the fact that if doctors did not remove the baby, both the child and Stella's mother would die. Stella's church belittled Jane Goodman for wanting to abort the baby, calling it murder. They harassed her so much that Jane decided she would not abort the child. On Valentine's Day, 1999, Jane Goodman and the unborn child both passed away. Stella was enraged that so many people belittled her mother for wanting to live. This is why Stella Goodman wants to ensure that abortion remains legal in the United States.
Stella's father finally returned home a few weeks later, but he wasn't the same. He suffered intensely from PTSD, and finally had to resort to treating himself with marijuana because the Goodman family was struggling for money. The word got out about his marijuana use and they sent him to prison, where he ended up committing suicide due to his PTSD. Stella Goodman will fight for the legalization of medical marijuana to treat cancer patients and the veterans that fought for the freedoms we have in America, as well as making sure that these veterans are able to get jobs and have homes to live in.
Soon after her father's death, Stella wanted to get involved in the government to ensure her ideas would be spread throughout. Her first job was at the U.S. Department of Defense, merely working as a secretary. Stella started her journey with a small job but knew she could get in with the right people to promote herself and get fully into politics. Unfortunately, on September 11th, 2001, Stella Goodman was in the Pentagon during the horrible attacks of five al-Qaeda terrorists, who hijacked American Airlines Flight 77, killing many people she knew inside the Pentagon. Stella Goodman knew immediately after these attacks that she wanted to fight for her country in the biggest way possible. Her plan was to work her way up through the government, starting from a county representative, a state representative, and finally the Senator of Virginia. Stella's final goal in politics is to become the President of the United States, where she will fight for women, veterans and gain justice for the victims of the terrorist attacks throughout our country.
